BCubed Engineering, an Auria company, is looking to hire a Senior Staff Systems Engineer to join the team. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality products that meet the requirements, constraints, and goals of our customers. You will apply advanced technical rigor to complex system architectures, managing tasks across the entire development cycle—including design, modeling, implementation, testing, integration, and deployment. At the Senior Staff level, you are expected to make a moderate-to-high organizational impact, managing complex systems tasks while serving as a respected mentor and advanced individual contributor.
For this specific SE role, we are seeking a qualified candidate to support the lifecycle management of our hardware platforms. This role is responsible for investigating hardware failures, driving root cause analysis, evaluating and dispositioning returned hardware, maintaining engineering documentation and CAD data, maintenance of development system HW baseline and operations, and partnering with vendors to ensure hardware quality and availability.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable working across engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and operations. This is a hybrid role located in Warrenton, VA.
- Systems Engineering Excellence:
Apply advanced problem-solving methodologies to the most complex problem sets, architecting and delivering solutions for entire systems and systems of systems. - Technical Rigor & Acumen:
Lead with engineering rigor, ensuring a strict commitment to testing, repeatable processes, comprehensive documentation, and reliable delivery across the entire development lifecycle. - Customer & Partner Engagement:
Act as a key technical point of contact to communicate and negotiate directly with external partners (sub-contractors, vendors, prime contractors) and external customers. Establish and maintain trusted partnerships with customer bases, negotiating through conflicts with transparency and integrity. - Effective Technical Leadership:
Lead the technical execution of projects and initiatives, ensuring engineering processes are upheld. Serve as a prominent, respected mentor across the organization to develop talent and elevate the contributions of your team members. - End-User Focus:
Design architectures and solutions that explicitly reflect the mission needs of the end-user, actively seeking out and embracing feedback with a growth mindset. - Requirements & Verification:
Author, trace, manage, and validate comprehensive system-level program requirements. Technical Milestones:
Support the development and executive presentation of major engineering milestone reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR). - Technical Artifacts:
Generate and maintain critical engineering artifacts, including Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Capability Development Documents (CDDs), Engineering Drawings, system - Bill of Materials (BOMs), etc.
- Configuration Management:
Maintain configuration management across artifacts created by the program. Create and maintain a list of SW Configuration Items (CI) and Bills of Material (BOMs). - SW Lifecycle Planning:
Collaborate with the design team from requirements through design, implementation, and maintenance. - Enforce Engineering Process and Rigor:
Define and implement engineering processes throughout the entire Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
