Altamira has an open position for a highly qualified and talented Staff Accountant/AP Specialist, with proven record and performance in the U.S. Government contracting industry, at our Corporate Headquarters in McLean, VA or our office in Warrenton, VA.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain proper vendor records within Deltek Costpoint system to ensure proper payment and reporting to include 1099s.
  • Process employee expense reports and customer invoices
  • Weekly accounts payable payments including ACH, Domestic and International wires, and checks
  • Provide guidance and ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP, FAR and CAS
  • Ensure all vendor invoices are properly recorded for timely payment
  • Assist with annual and periodic financial audits, Incurred Cost Submission, and DCAA interactions
  • Work closely with Project Control team to ensure accurate tracking and reporting on active projects and close out projects
  • Assist with special projects, integration, and due diligence
  • Other duties and assignments as required
Required skills and qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is desired
  • At least 2 years of experience in finance and accounting in the government contracting industry
  • Must be detail oriented with strong problem-solving skills and analytical approach and mindset
  • Experience with Deltek Costpoint
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills is desired
  • Strong communication skills, with ability to effectively interact and communicate, both oral and written, with individuals across the organization
