Overview
Freedom Technology Solutions Group is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator/Cloud Engineer to enhance our existing technical team supporting AI/ML/Data Science technologies in Warrenton, VA.
We are looking for a self‑motivated, innovative cloud engineer who will join a team that supports the cloud infrastructure for an enterprise environment. The role requires broad knowledge of system administration, automation technologies and scripting. It also requires understanding of security and accreditation practices, and the ability to work with multiple enterprise resources and teams in the operation of a digitized infrastructure.
Responsibilities- Support and maintain AWS and Linux‑based cloud infrastructure for enterprise workloads.
- Perform system patching and database maintenance, including RDS, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems across the infrastructure.
- Implement and maintain federated identity, RBAC, authentication and authorization solutions.
- Configure secure‑cloud settings such as Cloud Trail, AWS Config, VPC, Security Groups, IAM, NGFW, WAF, SIEM, and endpoint security.
- Use configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Cloud Formation, etc.) to automate deployments.
- Monitor and troubleshoot enterprise workflow applications, including background processes, log and event files, and patch deployment.
- Create and manage virtual infrastructure using AWS, Azure, Hyper‑V, or VMware.
- Develop or modify applications using Python, Java, or C# as needed.
- Work in a fast‑paced agile environment and collaborate with cross‑functional teams.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS and Linux in a production environment.
- Experience with database patching and maintenance for RDS, MySQL, and Oracle.
- Proven troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Knowledge of federated identity, RBAC, authentication and authorization.
- Understanding of secure‑cloud configuration (Cloud Trail, AWS Config, VPC, Security Groups, IAM).
- Experience with configuration management (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Cloud Formation).
- Experience with security technologies such as NGFW, WAF, SIEM, and endpoint security.
- Strong scripting skills.
- Experience monitoring enterprise applications and analyzing logs.
- Experience creating and managing virtual infrastructure in AWS, Azure, Hyper‑V, or VMware.
- Background in Python, Java, or C#.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent work experience.
- Active security clearance with polygraph (preferred).
