Director of Safety & Risk Management

📍 Warrenton, VA | Salary Exempt | Reports to VP of Operations

E Contracting Services, LLC is seeking a driven, strategic, and hands‑on Director of Safety & Risk Management to lead and elevate our company‑wide safety and risk initiatives across all site development and utility construction operations.

This is a high‑impact leadership role for a proactive safety professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, growing construction environment and is passionate about building a culture of accountability, compliance, and continuous improvement.

As the Director of Safety & Risk Management, you will develop, implement, and oversee scalable safety and risk management programs across multiple active job sites. You will serve as the company’s subject matter expert on safety and regulatory compliance while partnering closely with executive leadership, project management, and field teams.

Your mission:
Reduce risk, protect our people, strengthen compliance, and drive a culture where safety is the standard.

• Develop and continuously improve a comprehensive company‑wide Safety Program
• Standardize policies, procedures, and documentation across crews
• Lead safety initiatives that promote frontline ownership and accountability
• Mentor field leadership and strengthen safety culture

• Maintain strong visibility across active job sites
• Conduct routine and unannounced safety audits and inspections
• Lead Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
• Partner in pre‑construction planning to mitigate risk before work begins

• Ensure compliance with VOSH, OSHA 1926, Virginia DOLI, and Miss Utility requirements
• Oversee excavation/trenching, confined space, and work zone traffic control compliance
• Serve as liaison during regulatory inspections and investigations
• Manage workers’ compensation claims and incident investigations
• Support insurance and risk mitigation initiatives

• 5+ years of construction safety experience (heavy civil, excavation, utilities, or site development preferred)
• Strong knowledge of Virginia Occupational Safety & Health (VOSH) regulations
• Experience managing safety across multiple job sites
• Experience handling workers’ compensation claims
• OSHA 30‑Hour Construction (Required)
• Competent Person – Excavation/Trenching (Required)
• First Aid / CPR / AED (Required)
• Valid driver’s license with clean record

• OSHA 500 Trainer
• CHST or CSP
• Virginia Work Zone Traffic Control Certification
