Director of Discipleship Warrenton UMC

Warrenton United Methodist Church is a thriving church located in the heart of Warrenton, Virginia. We are seeking a full-time (35 hours per week) Director of Discipleship who will work closely with the Pastor and will be responsible for design and implementation of programs to facilitate a deeper relationship with Christ, understanding of Christian and biblical beliefs, and community among the congregation.

The ideal candidate will be a spiritually minded leader who can foster spiritual growth and build a vibrant and welcoming discipleship ministry for all. Experience in guiding and mentoring individuals in their spiritual journey is required, along with the ability to create and implement programs that cater to a diverse community. The candidate should also possess strong communication and organizational skills to effectively coordinate and lead discipleship groups and activities.

Responsibilities may include:

• Overseeing the Discipleship Steering Committee to guide small groups.
• Recruiting and training new volunteers and leaders at least twice yearly.
• Developing children’s and youth ministry programs and increasing family engagement.
• Coordinating annual background checks for volunteers with Operations.
• Supporting new member integration and information resources.
• Leading young adult ministry, including event scheduling and relationship building.
• Collaborating with the communications team to promote programs effectively.
• Working with the pastor to align discipleship objectives with the Church’s vision.
