Job DescriptionPosition performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy in a customer‑owned 24/7 mission critical facility. The role requires general knowledge of the electrical trade, with substantial work on control systems including power supplies, sensors, motor control centers, building control systems & networks.
PrincipalJob Duties
- Maintenance, replacement, or repair of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, motors, heating units, conduit systems, and other transmission equipment.
- Work from schematics, blueprints, drawings, layouts, or specifications.
- Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system, mechanical control systems or equipment.
- Perform standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Use a variety of electrician’s hand tools and measuring/testing instruments.
- Document deficiencies per company and customer processes to avoid impact on daily mission.
- Participate in job‑specific training, presentations, modules, qualification tests required to perform work and qualify for job skills and corporate policies & procedures.
- Perform switching/isolation procedures to mitigate unexpected operational issues or to prepare systems for maintenance by vendors or in‑house O&M personnel.
- Provide timely assistance to plant operators and/or other O&M personnel when required.
- Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
- Plan, organize, and carry out assignments as directed, including prevention maintenance tasks and organization of major equipment shutdown/isolation events.
- Work a standard daytime week (Mon‑Fri); flexible schedule possible. Position requires on‑call availability for after‑hours emergencies at the 24/7 facility.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum of a basic background in electrical equipment & distribution systems (120V to 480V); includes proper training & use of PPE.
- Journeyman’s electrician license.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with electrical systems such as panel boards, switchboards, generators, UPS systems, DC voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and mechanical systems.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with control systems such as PLC‐based controllers, low‑voltage control systems (48V, 24V, 4‑10mA), BMS components, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, management, coworkers, vendors, and contractors.
- Already holds USG clearance.
- Perform standard maintenance/inspection tasks requiring physical labor (work on ladders, carry minimum 50lb, operate forklift/manlift if licensed).
- Work in varied environmental conditions (indoor, mechanical, high noise, extreme temperatures).
Job Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance required.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the electrical field with a focus on controls; preferably in a data processing facility.
- Master’s electrician license and experience with 13.2kV switches and switch gear.
- Proficient computer skills and direct experience operating plant control systems.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal, mentoring, and organizational accountability skills.
- Good multitasking skills.
