The Shop Technician Apprenticeship Program is designed to build the next generation of RES shop and fleet talent through paid, hands-on learning, structured mentorship, and technical training.

About the Program

The Shop Technician Apprentice Program is a structured pathway for individuals who want to build a career maintaining and repairing trucks, construction equipment, and shop assets. Apprentices will work alongside experienced technicians while developing skills in safety, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repair, documentation, and equipment support. The program is modeled on the U.S. Department of Labor Diesel Mechanic apprenticeship framework, which includes approximately 6,000 hours of on-the-job learning over about three years, supplemented by related technical instruction.

Apprentices progress through defined learning stages and may receive wage progression as skills, hours, training, and performance milestones are achieved.
