Software Engineer, Python, DevOps

Requirements Must have:

• Were looking for 5 to 10 years of proven systems engineering experience delivering high-consequence technical solutions.
• You should hold a degree in engineering or computer science from an accredited university, or have equivalent expertise gained through apprenticeship and professional experience.
• You need strong software engineering proficiency with a demonstrated record of solving problems across subsystems and smaller systems.
• We expect a strong delivery mindset, with the ability to finish coding work and ship production-ready software, including the challenging final stages of development.
• You must be able to manage your own workload, complete your share of team commitments independently, and communicate blockers or schedule impacts transparently.
• You should demonstrate high integrity, personal accountability, and sound judgment even in difficult situations.
• We require an active SECRET clearance and U.S. citizenship.
• We need a bachelors or masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering.
• For Python-focused work, you should have deep experience with asynchronous programming, scripting, and binding C++ to Python using pybind
  11 or Cython.
• For Kubernetes-focused work, you should be skilled in Docker, Kubernetes primitives, custom operators, and low-latency cloud infrastructure optimization.
• For systems and Dev Ops work, you should have experience with Linux internals, distributed systems design, CI/CD automation, and observability tools.
• Preferred qualifications include strong C++ expertise in modern standards, memory management, multithreading, and CMake.
• Preferred qualifications also include advanced experience building and maintaining Git Lab CI/CD pipelines for hybrid C++ and Python container workflows.
• Additional preferred experience includes configuration management, version control strategy, Git Ops, and infrastructure as code.

• Independently carry software engineering work through the full development lifecycle, from design and modeling to implementation, testing, integration, and deployment.
• Apply rigorous testing practices, repeatable development methods, and clear documentation to deliver dependable software.
• Build solutions with the end user in mind and actively seek feedback to strengthen trusted customer partnerships.
• Manage your own workload, help plan team software activities, and meet schedule and delivery expectations.
• Mentor and guide junior software engineers and peers, especially at the senior level.
• Communicate software concepts and architectural decisions clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including external partners.
• Contribute new ideas, modern frameworks, and more efficient development processes.
• Deliver complete, production-ready capabilities and push work through the final stages to completion.

We are BCubed Engineering, an Auria company, and we build advanced software and engineering solutions focused on digital signal processing, software development, and command-and-control applications for space, national security, and cyber missions. This hybrid role is based out of our Warrenton, VA or Tampa, FL offices, with an initial onboarding period followed by a hybrid schedule of at least 2 to 3 days per week in the office or at a customer site.
