BCubed Engineering, an Auria company, is looking to hire an Electrical Engineer specializing in Digital Signal Processing (DSP). This role can be performed at two levels:
Level I or Level II, depending on skills and years of experience. This position is on-site in Warrenton, VA. As a DSP Engineer, you will be performing DSP testing, development, and integration on the D-ETI system.
What You Can Expect To Do:
- Algorithm Implementation:
Translate existing mathematical models and signal processing concepts into functional, clean C/C++ code for embedded processors or real-time software environments. - Simulation & Modeling:
Use Python or MATLAB to model signal processing pipelines, run simulations, generate test vectors, and evaluate algorithmic performance under various conditions. - System Testing & Debugging:
Participate in hardware/software integration and laboratory bring-up, using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and software debuggers to isolate issues in the DSP pipeline. - Documentation:
Maintain clear documentation of algorithm designs, test results, verification procedures, and API specifications. - Collaboration:
Work closely with senior and staff engineers to implement technical architectures, participating actively in team code reviews and scrum meetings. Take independent ownership of smaller DSP subsystems or modules, modify existing algorithm architectures for performance improvements, and provide peer review feedback for entry-level tasks.
What The Team Requires:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
- Solid academic or professional foundation in digital signal processing fundamentals (sampling theory, discrete Fourier transforms, digital filtering, linear systems).
- Proficiency in programming with C/C++ and scripting/modeling with Python or MATLAB.
- Familiarity with debugging tools and laboratory equipment (e.g., software debuggers, logic analyzers).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to technical detail.
- Experience Tier Requirements: 0 to 5 years of professional industry experience directly developing and testing DSP algorithms or real-time embedded software.
- Active US Secret Security Clearance
What The Team Prefers:
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with a focus on signal processing or communication theory.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks or software continuous integration (CI/CD) pipelines.
Pay Transparency:
The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications - skills, education & experience - and the position level. $70,000 - $110,000
