RN Staff Nurse Outpatient Oncology Infusion Part‑time Days $2.5K Sign‑on Bonus – Central DuPage Hospital, Warrenville, IL

The salary range for this position is $34.50 - $54.25 per hour.

Placement within the salary range depends on relevant work experience, internal equity, and collective bargaining agreements for union positions.

Description

The RN Staff Nurse Outpatient reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and regulatory and accreditation standards.

  • A Registered Nurse is a clinically competent, registered, professional nurse who prescribes, delegates and coordinates nursing care to the acutely ill patient through the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation. Effectively interacts with patient, significant others, and health team members, while maintaining standards of professional nursing. As a professional nurse utilizes critical thinking, therapeutic communication, and interpersonal relationship building skills and strives to improve team effectiveness, system processes and patient outcomes across the continuum of care.
Responsibilities
  • Collect data, analyze data, identify expected outcomes, develop an individualized plan of care, coordinate care delivery and evaluate progress toward outcomes.
  • Direct care and determine the appropriate utilization of any assistant involved in providing direct patient care.
  • Involve patient/family in care planning, including teaching, continuum of care and discharge planning.
  • Perform all aspects of patient care to optimize safety and reduce medical/health care errors, incorporating National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Adequately assess and reassess pain; utilize appropriate pain management techniques and educate patients and families regarding pain management.
  • Demonstrate effective hand‑offs to the next healthcare provider.
  • Assume required on‑call assignments.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required for all new hires after 01/01/2011
  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
  • One year of experience in a similar role
  • CPR – Basic Life Support
  • CPR – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
    • Not required in Cost Center 2050-Endoscopy Lab
    • Not required in Cost Center 2084 – CDH OPIC
    • Not required in Outpatient Oncology departments
    • Candidates have up to 6 months after hire to complete for Cost Center 2130 - Outpatient Pediatric
  • CPR – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
    • Not required in Cost Center 2084 – CDH OPIC
    • Not required in Outpatient Oncology departments
    • Not required in Cost Center 2130 - Outpatient Pediatric
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of experience in a similar role

There is a $2,500 sign‑on bonus available for this position for external candidates and candidates who have not worked at NM in over 1 year.
