Cultivates organizational partnerships to deliver sophisticated clinical and operational decision support by maintaining the decision support architecture and distributing key insights system-wide. This role will streamline information sharing across the organization by developing sophisticated, standardized reporting and dashboard solutions. Educates and mentors internal analysts on advanced data extraction methodologies and standardized reporting to ensure data integrity and organizational alignment.
What You Will Do- Lead the distribution and maintenance of decision support reports across the system. Meet with departments to educate, explain and discuss opportunities for improvement and ensure integrity of the data.
- Provide timely financial analysis as it relates to profitability across the system. Partner with department leaders in using and interpreting this information to make decisions regarding expansion of services or programs, identify and implement opportunities to improve profitability, or eliminate services. Also find solutions to data needs that will aid the decision‑making process.
- Cultivate strong relationships across the system, including senior management. Use information to provide analysis and recommendations that strengthen relationships and ultimately improve operating performance.
- Possess a deep technical understanding of core processes to provide detailed variance analysis and stakeholder support, while ensuring all system enhancements are rigorously tested prior to implementation.
- Support, educate and help build and maintain the decision support system. Participate in the approval process by providing technical data and serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for non‑routine data requests and exploratory research.
- Effectively use databases to gather, sort, and extract data necessary for the proper tracking of key performance indicators. Seek opportunities to enhance the decision support system by improving the information contained within the system and the way in which it can be extracted.
- Lead the distribution of data to assist in the monthly financial close process.
- Lead the distribution of standardized reports to aid in the overall understanding and assessment of business performance. Seek opportunities to build dashboards for senior management that give daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual views of key operational statistics.
- Develop and maintain cost accounting system. Meet with departmental managers to determine costs for procedures across the system, while ensuring coordination with cost accounting processes.
- Prepare standardized reporting, using financial, statistical, or patient visit data sources. Provide technical and informational assistance, as well as guidance to others on the use of these sources.
- Lead in the submission of required financial and statistical surveys to third party and government agencies on an annual or quarterly basis.
- Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of expertise by reading appropriate books, journals and other literature, and attending related seminars and conferences.
- Education:
Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field. - Certification:
None. - Experience:
Five (5+) years of previous data analytics, decision support, financial analysis, cost accounting or related experience required. Preferred more than five years of previous financial analysis, data analytics, budgeting, statistical or related experience in a similarly sized healthcare organization. - Skills:
