Carpenter & Joiner – HMP Risley, Warrington (WA3 6BP
)
£30,866 – £36,135 plus 15% weekend shift allowance, 39 hours per week.
Working Pattern:
Saturday – Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00;
Friday: 08:00 – 16:00.
Join a stable, long‑term contract at HMP Risley, working as part of a facilities team delivering essential maintenance across the prison. This is a single‑site role with good structure, job security and a supportive team environment.
What you’ll be doing- General joinery repairs (doors, windows, fixtures, bespoke work)
- Running the workshop (equipment checks, inspections, housekeeping)
- Measuring jobs and quoting works
- Ordering materials and managing stock
- Level 3 Carpentry & Joinery (Level 2 considered with experience)
- Maintenance or FM background preferred
- Confident using tools and working at height (ladders)
Prison security clearance + Standard DBS (full support provided).
