Working Hours:
6-week cycle: 1 week working at the Scotland Plant (on call) 1 week working at the Gateshead Plant (on call) 4 weeks working at Gateshead Plant (standard) MTrecs New Opportunity: MTrec Technical are proudly representing our prestigious engineering client in their 2026 recruitment initiative with the recruitment of a permanent Multiskilled Maintenance Technician to strengthen their team. If you have experience as a Maintenance Technician, ideally with an Electrical bias, apply now for an immediate response The Job Youll Do:
Attend and rectify electrical and mechanical breakdowns. Carry out planned preventative maintenance across plant equipment. Fault find and repair electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Service and maintain machinery including conveyors, motors and gearboxes. Change bearings, motors, gearboxes, conveyor belts and associated components. Calibrate, inspect and test plant equipment. Read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics. Carry out fault finding on three-phase electrical systems.
Keep management and operational teams updated on maintenance progress. Participate in the on-call rota and Scottish site rotation.
About You:
Minimum NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Engineering. Minimum 3 years' engineering maintenance experience. Electrical bias or strong multi-skilled background. Experience using electrical testing equipment Strong fault-finding skills on electrical and electro-mechanical systems. Experience working with three-phase electrical systems. Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams. Full UK Driving Licence. Good communication and problem-solving skills.
