Location: Daresbury
Job Responsibilities
- Carry out service and repairs to equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional and cost‑effective manner, maintaining documentation of all work in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures.
- Plan and deliver service and maintenance jobs at client premises, with occasional off‑site work as required.
- Monitor and count site stock to ensure sufficient parts for day‑to‑day maintenance of the fleet.
- Inspect and monitor the safety of repaired and maintained trucks.
- Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets, purchase requisitions and parts paperwork within required timescales.
- Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling (including van, laptop, printer, etc.) and ensure it is in a safe condition for the work undertaken.
- Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines.
- Operate independently and as part of a team, maintaining good communication skills and meeting required timescales.
To be considered for the role you will need to have knowledge of at least one of the following areas and be willing to undertake additional training to excel within Crown Lift Trucks Ltd.
- Mechanical engineering
- Electrical engineering
- Hydraulics
- Must hold full UK Driving Licence.
- Proficient in fault finding and repair.
- Educated with an ability to achieve a grade C in English and Maths at GCSE.
- Experience of Health & Safety requirements in a workshop practice.
- Commitment to continuing personal and professional development.
- Excellent organisational skills, resourceful and solution‑driven.
- High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to multi‑task, prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work independently or in a team.
- Clear communication skills – oral and written.
- Consultation and negotiation skills.
- Flexibility to cope with diverse needs of the post.
- Highly motivated and resilient under pressure.
- Positive, personable and optimistic with a can‑do attitude.
- Recent and relevant experience of working in a forklift truck service environment.
- Engineering qualification.
- Hours of Work: Monday – Friday. Shift pattern to be discussed at interview.
- Company Vehicle: A company van and fuel card are provided with the option for private use (subject to tax regulations).
- Holidays: 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays.
