Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Powered Access Engineer to join our well-established and growing team in a regional role. While Leigh will be your main depot, this is primarily a field-based position, with travel to customer sites across the UK. You'll only be required to attend the depot when necessary, giving you the autonomy and variety that comes with a mobile engineering role.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled and motivated engineer who enjoys working independently, visiting a range of customer sites, and delivering a high standard of service. The successful candidate will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing powered access equipment to the highest industry standards, ensuring equipment remains safe, compliant, and fully operational. Responsibilities
- Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair a wide range of powered access equipment, including:
- Scissor Lifts
- Boom Lifts
- Vertical Personnel Lifts
- Carry out CAP-standard inspections and preventative maintenance.
- Diagnose hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and diesel faults.
- Complete LOLER pre-inspection preparation where required.
- Ensure all equipment complies with current health and safety regulations before returning to service.
- Complete service reports, inspection documentation, and job sheets accurately using electronic systems.
- Provide a professional and responsive service to customers, offering technical advice where appropriate.
- Maintain company vehicle, tools, and van stock to a high standard.
- Participate in an out-of-hours call-out when required
Qualifications
- CAP Certification in Powered Access or equivalent in house qualification.
- Proven experience with electrical systems and mechanical repairs.
- Strong knowledge of schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and maintenance procedures.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills for liaising with team members and clients.
- Prior experience working with MEWPs or similar equipment is preferred.
