Salary: £30,866 – £36,135 + 15% shift allowance (1 in 3 weekends)
Hours:
39 hours per week (rota basis)
Work pattern:
Rota basis
- Saturday–Thursday: 08:00–17:00
- Friday: 08:00–16:00
- 1 in 3 weekends (with 15% allowance)
We’re looking for a qualified Plumber to join the team at HMP Risley. This is a stable, long-term role on a single site with no travelling between jobs.
You’ll work as part of the onsite maintenance team, helping keep the prison safe, operational, and compliant.
The role- Carry out planned and reactive plumbing maintenance
- Repair mains water systems and pipework
- Fault find and fix issues across the site
- Complete inspections, water sampling, and basic risk checks
- Identify and report deteriorating equipment
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing & Heating
- Experience in maintenance (ideally commercial or FM)
- Full UK driving licence
- Basic knowledge of water hygiene / Legionella (training can be provided)
- 15% shift allowance (for weekend rota – 1 in
3) - 24 days holiday + bank holidays (option to buy more)
