HGV TECHNICIAN - WARRINGTON

People Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join our well-established client based in Warrington on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HGV Technician to join a highly regarded commercial vehicle specialist providing HGV and trailer maintenance, repair, fabrication, reconditioning and servicing to major fleet operators across the UK.
You'll be joining an established workshop with modern equipment, a skilled team and excellent opportunities to develop your technical knowledge and earning potential.
This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Truck Mechanic, Trailer Technician or HGV Fitter.
Salary£45,000 - £49,000 per annum, depending on experience and skill set
Overtime opportunities available
Shift PatternFull-time, permanent position
- 42.5 hours per week
- Alternating AM/PM shifts
- AM: 6:00am - 2:00pm
- PM: 2:00pm - 10:00pm

As an HGV Technician, your duties will include:
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs across a range of HGVs and trailers
- Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults
- Fault finding across hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Completing vehicle inspections
- Preparing vehicles for MOT and annual testing
- Repairing braking, suspension, steering and drivetrain systems
- Carrying out trailer refurbishment and reconditioning
- Completing welding and fabrication work where competent
- Accurately completing job cards and maintenance documentation
- Ensuring all work meets required quality and safety standards
- Working in accordance with DVSA and Health & Safety requirements
- Working alongside experienced technicians and engineers to ensure vehicles are returned to customers safely and efficiently
To be successful as an HGV Technician, you will need:
- Previous experience working with HGVs, commercial vehicles or trailers
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs
- A strong understanding of workshop Health & Safety
- High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- A reliable and professional approach to work
- Full UK working rights
The following would be advantageous but isn't essential:
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
- IRTEC accreditation
- HGV Class 1 (C+E) or Class 2 licence
- Welding and fabrication experience
- Manufacturer-specific training or accreditations
