Primary Responsibilities- Create detailed 2D and 3D models using CAD software to support new motor designs and custom modifications.
- Produce accurate manufacturing drawings, assembly layouts, and bill of materials for production.
- Update and maintain engineering documentation, drawings, and revision histories.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, production teams, and shop personnel to ensure designs align with manufacturing capabilities and best practices.
- Translate engineering concepts and specifications into clear, manufacturable drawings.
- Participate in design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and processes.
- Assist with customer-specific documentation, including outline drawings and data packages.
- Support special projects and additional tasks as assigned.
- Associate degree or technical certification in CAD, Drafting, Mechanical Design, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical drafting or CAD design (manufacturing environment preferred).
- Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, Solid Works, Inventor, or similar).
- Strong understanding of mechanical components, tolerances, fits, and fabrication practices.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organization and documentation skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
- Experience drafting manufacturing documents for electric motors, rotating equipment, or heavy industrial machinery.
- Familiarity with AC and/or DC motor components, assemblies, and manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of GD&T standards and drafting best practices.
- Experience working directly with machine shops or fabrication teams.
- Experience collecting data with precision measurement tools to re-create and re-draw parts and components from damaged or worn examples.
