Rotor Technician​/Mill Operator

Job Summary

Operate various machine tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies, perform welding, brazing and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.

Monday – Friday 6:00 am – 2:30 pm.

• Setup and operate various machine tools to repair and manufacture mechanical assemblies (horizontal and vertical mills).
• Use measuring devices and techniques correctly to assure proper sizing.
• Lift, tighten, adjust and/or secure heavy objects in order to perform work and/or to observe safety procedures.
• Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
• Maintain housekeeping in assigned areas.
• Understand machine lubrication, maintenance and proper operation.
• Perform other skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by lead person, supervisor, plant manager and/or president.
• Must be able to read drawings/blueprints.
• Fabricate equipment by cutting, burning and welding various metals. Repair equipment by using welding techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
• Build up worm or defective surfaces (i.e. welding up shafts so they can be re-machined).
• Using burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and cut materials.
• Must provide own tools and toolbox.

• Preferred level of education/experience: high school diploma.
• High school, trade school, vocational/technical school, military, or on-the-job training.

• Basic Mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to understand, perform and retain various job-related training and operational and safety procedures demonstrated by lead person, supervisor, plant manager and/or president.
• Ability to work well with others in a team effort.
