The Accounts Payable Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of the accounts payable function. This role ensures vendor and expense payments are processed accurately, on time, and in full compliance with company policies and internal controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate payment processing.
- Maintain and monitor payables system integrity and ensure adherence to compliance standards.
- Facilitate effective integration between Accounts Payable and other corporate departments.
- Review and reconcile designated general ledger accounts and supporting data to verify accuracy and proper system performance.
- Support monthly and annual close processes by ensuring documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant.
- Review and process employee expense reports in alignment with company policies.
- Prepare and complete annual 1099 filings.
- Compile and submit required financial and census reporting on both quarterly and annual schedules.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field required.
- Equivalent combination of relevant coursework and professional experience will be considered.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of high-volume accounts payable experience.
- At least 2 years in a supervisory or team leadership capacity.
Functional Expertise
- Strong understanding of accounts payable workflows, controls, and three-way matching.
- Proven ability to prioritize effectively and exercise sound judgment in communications and task management.
- Experience analyzing and validating large datasets.
Technical Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills required.
- Demonstrated technical aptitude and prior experience with ERP systems.
- Experience with Oracle is preferred.
Communication
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
