General

Summary:

The teacher will team with an English-speaking teacher, who will teach in English, to provide instruction for two classes of students. This is a school level position with the principal as supervisor. The teacher, though, will be expected to collaborate with district personnel on the program.

Essential Functions:

• Fully commits to moving the district mission forward
• Participates in professional development and instructional coaching
• Collaborates with English partner teacher and commit to Professional Learning Collaboration team
• Conducts assigned activities from the administration, in conformity with the approved policies of the Board of Education and State and Federal Law.
• Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Develops reasonable procedures and rules of behavior in the classroom and maintains order in a fair and just manner.
• Maintains confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual.
• Assesses student learning and prepare data as needed
• Develops lesson plans for second language learners
• Utilizes dual immersion guidelines, strategies, and curriculum maps
• Accommodates visitors to the classroom
• Meets with parents from both classes for Parent/Teacher Conferences
• Maintains confidentiality as defined within the policy and procedure manual

Qualifications:

• Candidates have to complete OPI language test in target language and score Advanced Mid
• Required Master's Degree
• English proficiency
• ESL endorsement preferred
• World Language Endorsement preferred
• Previous teaching experience preferred
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology and instructional media tools
