About the RoleThe Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining programs that ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations. This role promotes a culture of safety, minimizes risk, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to protect employees, the environment, and company assets.
Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and maintain high‑pressure and low‑pressure boilers used in EV production and facility operations.
- Develop, implement, and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs in alignment with regulatory requirements and company standards.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and safety audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement preventive measures.
- Deliver safety training and education programs to employees at all levels.
- Monitor workplace conditions and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain required records, reports, and documentation related to workplace safety and environmental compliance.
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to drive continuous improvement in EHS performance and safety culture.
- Support emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and training.
- Track, analyze, and report EHS performance metrics to leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field with 8+ years of related experience, or Master's degree with 6+ years of experience, or PhD with 3+ years of experience, or equivalent education and experience.
- Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, compliance standards, and best practices.
- Experience conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and training facilitation skills.
- Professional certification such as CSP, CIH, or CHMM.
- Experience in manufacturing, industrial, or high‑risk operational environments.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 standards.
- Experience with EHS management systems and reporting tools.
