Facilities Mechanical Engineer
Overview We are seeking a Facilities Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and enjoys improving building systems and infrastructure. This role focuses on the design, maintenance, and continuous improvement of key mechanical systems that support production operations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure facilities are safe, efficient, and scalable for future growth.
Key Responsibilities System Design & Optimization
- Design and specify mechanical systems for new and existing facilities.
- Evaluate system performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Support facility layout planning and utility infrastructure for new equipment installations.
- Lead the mechanical scope of facility expansions and upgrade projects.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Review and approve technical drawings, equipment submittals, and commissioning plans.
- Partner with maintenance teams to troubleshoot mechanical system issues and drive long-term solutions.
- Develop and improve preventive maintenance strategies for critical systems.
- Monitor system performance using BMS and CMMS tools.
- Ensure all systems meet local codes, OSHA requirements, and environmental standards.
- Support audits, inspections, and related documentation.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, efficiency, and sustainability.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.
- EIT or PE certification is a plus.
- 3-5 years of facilities engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Hands-on experience with HVAC, boilers, compressed air, chilled water, and utility systems.
- Experience designing piping systems, ductwork, and controls.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Solid project management and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainability practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across teams.
