This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the contract orthopedic manufacturing industry, working alongside experienced professionals within our engineering department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of the position)Nothing in this job description restricts management’s right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time.
- Assist the engineering team by performing administrative tasks such as organizing/printing work orders, processes, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Collaborate with the engineering team on the shop floor with machinery.
- Engage in training sessions and mentorship opportunities to develop a deep understanding of manufacturing engineering processes, and best practices.
- Follow company safety standards and procedures
- Support engineering team with any other tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school graduate or college student with strong interest in pursuing an Engineering career.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn new skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects.
- Strong interest in orthopedic manufacturing and a desire to learn about engineering.
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and tools is a plus but not required.

- Must be able to work in a manufacturing and office environment.
- Eyesight and hearing must be correctable to a standard level.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks at once
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to stand, walk and use business equipment daily such as P.C., copier, telephone, etc.; occasionally required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 40 lbs.
