Truss Designer Warsaw, IN

Position is responsible for creating layouts for floor and roof trusses to specification for Residential, Commercial and Agricultural Buildings. The position requires the use of Mitek Software to design trusses and ensure the feasibility of new designs.

VP of Design/Operations Manager

Work Schedule:

7:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Essential functions include providing designs on all assigned jobs in a timely manner, solving design/engineering problems, ensuring economical and proper use of materials, maintaining detailed records, communicating with team members, assisting in training and development, meeting with job site supervisors, maintaining regular attendance, generating sales through cold calls, and following up on quotes.

Educational requirements may include previous related experience, CAD experience, construction and previous truss shop experience. Required skills and qualifications include the ability to read and understand blueprints, 2-year technical degree or applicable experience, 2 years experience designing optimized projects utilizing Mitek and/or other design related software, general knowledge of construction industry, basic CAD and drafting knowledge, knowledge of engineering fundamentals, ability to anticipate and resolve problems, strong math skills, knowledge of current local codes associated with truss design, ability to communicate effectively with architects, engineers, customers, and team members, fluid in mathematical calculations as they pertain to pricing, and ability to communicate effectively with various levels of management/advisors.

Work environment will be completed in an office environment with occasional job site meetings.
