Position SummaryWe are seeking a Business Unit Controller. This pivotal role involves planning, managing, and executing business initiatives to ensure financial and operational objectives align with overarching business goals.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Partnership: Collaborate with the BU General Manager to plan and execute business initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial and operational objectives.
- Financial Management: Lead financial planning activities, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Oversee timely and accurate financial closings and reconciliations.
- Operational Oversight: Manage inventory accuracy through physical counts and reconciliations. Drive improvements in valuation metrics and reporting.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to internal controls, policies, and audit processes. Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and support the Shared Services team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
- Experience: 7–10 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, reporting, and accounting within a manufacturing environment. Experience with multi-site and international multi-currency operations is highly preferred. Public accounting experience is a plus.
- Certifications: CPA or CMA preferred.
- Skills: Strong proficiency in general accounting, financial analysis, and manufacturing labor cost accounting. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in MS Office, with advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
