We are currently looking for Chief Risk Officer who will be responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of all credit and asset portfolio strategies of COF Poland, ensuring an adequate risk/return profile of the portfolio by actively managing it and implementation appropriate methods, tools and processes for the risk assessment and other processes, as well as ensuring compliance with associated regulation including AML.
The Chief Risk Officer, as a member of the Management team, is responsible for the sustainable development of the business together with the CEO and CFO.
- Directing and controlling all the activities of local SFS COF Poland Risk function in order to: ensure full and effective delivery of credit and underwriting decisions in line with regulations, policy, guidelines and agreed service levels, optimize profitability generated from assets at end of term through rigorous and comprehensive processes,minimize losses through proactive management of the overdue customers portfolio and actively drive digitalization and automation of processes.
- Developing, implementing and monitoring risk strategies, operating policies, procedures and practices (for underwriting, asset management, portfolio monitoring and collections) to ensure a well-balanced portfolio.
- Ensuring full compliance with respective AML regulations and ensuring that efficient processes are in place in alignment with the central AML team.
- Managing the sustainable development of COF Poland and the achievement of the expected targets in growth and profitability together with the CEO and CFO of Country, including the new product approval process.
- Managing actively the country portfolio through exercising lending authority, managing risk levels and credit losses through proactive modifications of the target markets, underwriting standards and policies based on relevant information and statistical analyses.
- Implementing and monitoring country specific measures for productivity and efficiency of the risk organization (automation of decisions, approval and conversion ratios, turn around times, arrears development, credit loss level).
- Challenging, developing and improving risk processes and assessment tools in co-operation with SFS Headquarter departments, especially Risk Controlling, in order to improve quality of service and accuracy of transaction underwriting.
- Providing Local and Central Management with regular and adequate reporting and implement/improve local reporting requirements in order to support monitoring and properly reflect portfolio risk.
- Participating in developing a clear vision and strategy for the business, to set its future direction in line with corporate guidelines and to provide strategic leadership and operational management.
- Recruiting and developing an effective risk management team, selecting and developing individuals in line with organizational needs and culture, including succession planning.
- Minimum 7 years of risk management experience in different roles in a financial institution
- Minimum 4 years in a Risk Leadership position, with a directly managed team of minimum 5 employees
- Demonstrated leadership skills
, including motivating, developing employees, and building culture based on trust and ownership. - Experience of general management (being part of a management team with P&L responsibility of a structure with more than 25 people)
- Experience in cooperating with colleagues and partners in an international environment
- Advanced English communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration in an international environment.
Polish language skills considered beneficial - University degree
