The IT Manager, TPO Portfolio Project Management serves as the primary owner of Portfolio and Project Management technology products supporting R&D and Supply Chain product development and project activities. This role partners closely with R&D, Quality, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and IT stakeholders to ensure technology investments are aligned to business priorities, regulatory requirements, and product development needs. This position plays a critical role in accelerating innovation, driving visibility, governance, and value realization across the organization and reports into the DePuy Synthes Technology organization.
Key Responsibilities- Own the product vision, roadmap, and backlog for the assigned Portfolio and Project Management technology platforms, ensuring cross‑functional alignment.
- Partner with R&D, Supply Chain, and other cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Lead prioritization decisions to balance business value, compliance, and delivery timelines.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for product performance, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with development teams to support agile delivery, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and release readiness.
- Drive continuous improvement of portfolio management processes, tools, and governance models.
- Monitor product outcomes and KPIs to ensure solutions deliver measurable value to the cross‑functional teams.
- Demonstrate Johnson & Johnson’s Credo and leadership behaviors in all interactions.
- Lead the application of AI, advanced analytics, and automation to modernize R&D platforms, accelerating product development, improving scientific and engineering insights, and strengthening end‑to‑end decision‑making while enabling scalable, compliant, and efficient R&D operations from discovery through lifecycle management.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Information Systems, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field).
- Master’s degree (MBA or relevant technical discipline) preferred.
- 6-8 years of experience in technology, digital product management, or clinical systems, with experience at the manager or senior individual contributor level.
- Proven experience as a product owner or product manager for enterprise technology solutions.
- Strong ability to translate business needs into technology requirements.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and cross‑functional collaboration skills and influence without authority.
- Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., medical devices, pharmaceuticals, life sciences).
- Experience working with agile or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Experience supporting R&D Product Development technology platforms within a global organization.
- Familiarity with Agile, SAFe, or hybrid delivery models in an enterprise IT environment.
- Experience with portfolio and project management tools and financial tracking.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities.
- Ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization.
- Language:
English proficiency required. - Travel:
Up to 10–15%, primarily domestic. - Certifications:
Product Owner, Agile, or Project Management certifications (preferred).
