Technician, Waste Treatment Operator - Crew D

• Operate and maintain wastewater treatment systems including pumps, blowers, tanks, and vacuum equipment.
• Monitor equipment performance and conduct routine inspections to ensure proper functioning.
• Collect and analyze water samples for chemical and biological parameters.
• Ensure effluent quality meets or exceeds NPDES permit limitations.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on treatment equipment.
• Maintain accurate logs of operations, maintenance, and compliance activities.
• Assist in emergency response and troubleshooting of system failures.
• Support environmental, health, and safety compliance initiatives.
• Collaborate with other departments for facility maintenance and utility support.

• Education:
  
  High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience:
  
  Valid Indiana driver’s license;
  Class II Indiana Wastewater Operator license (or willingness to obtain through training); experience in operating wastewater treatment systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Skills:
  
  Ability to perform mathematical calculations for dosages, ratios, and volumetric analysis; proficiency in computer systems including database, spreadsheet, and word processing software; knowledge of IDEM regulations and NPDES permit requirements; strong troubleshooting and mechanical skills; ability to work independently and respond to emergency situations; physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in varied environmental conditions.
