Responsibilities

The Production Manager provides leadership for all production Team Members within a department or Value Stream. Responsible for creation and achievement of production schedules and posting of daily work assignments. Serve as the driver behind Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and Morale in the department or Value Stream.

  • Provide leadership for all production Team Members within a department or Value Stream.
  • Maintain all time, attendance, and disciplinary action records for each direct report in a timely manner.
  • Ensure team members are up to date and trained to perform assigned functions within Master Control.
  • Responsible for day-to-day compliance and adherence to Avalign and FDA quality system requirements.
  • Manufacturing point person for product and process knowledge for department or Value Stream.
  • Point person for department or Value Stream for Maintenance, HR, Quality and Engineering.
  • Ensure product flows at established lead‑times through manufacturing cell.
  • Lead daily production review walk. Drive corrections to solve issues and elevate when needed.
  • Ensure management is informed of all significant developments regarding the operation.
  • Set production plans for department across all shifts. Set overtime needs.
  • Set cross‑training plans across all shifts using training matrix method.
  • Ensure key constraints are managed and properly staffed.
  • Set direction and drive accountability for off‑shift supervision on production, staffing and quality needs.
  • Responsible for recruitment, development, promotion, and disciplinary actions of hourly Team Members.
  • Responsible for overall performance management for hourly Team Members, including preparing and delivering annual performance reviews.
  • Perform spot quality checks, 5S audits, Layered Process Audits.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma required, Bachelor’s degree a plus.
  • Minimum of 6 years combined industry (biomedical, medical device) and/or military experience; or 8 years of combined industry, military and/or related (general manufacturing, quality, or logistics) experience.
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 3+ years leadership experience preferred; may include military leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of company products, processes, and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Flexibility to re-prioritize tasks as needs change with strong time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in coaching, counseling, motivating, training, recognizing, and communicating objectives.
  • Ability to work in a team environment within the organization unit, across departments and multiple shifts.
  • Basic understanding of quality systems.
  • Analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Organized and detail‑oriented.
  • Strong work ethic and dependable.
  • Team‑oriented and motivated.
  • Excellent time‑management, documentation, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Medical device experience a plus but not required.
