Machinist

The Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating a machine to make parts for customers per supplied blueprints and CNC programs.

• Setting up and operating CNC equipment such as lathes and mills.
• May be asked to complete minor writing or editing of CNC programs.
• Manufacture of parts for routed orders.
• Record measurements per customer and company requirements.
• Perform preventive maintenance on facility CNC equipment.
• Troubleshoot and repair company equipment as able.
• Maintain records for measurement and maintenance.
• Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
• Communicate with operators from other shifts.
• Maintain and secure work tools.
• Clean and maintain work area.
• Turn off and lock out equipment when not in use.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.
• Maintain stock of tools and tooling.
• Other duties as assigned.
• High School diploma or equivalent preferred
• Basic reading, writing, and some advanced arithmetic skills required.
• Experience using one or more of the following tools: lathe, milling machine, drill press, and vertical/horizontal cut off saw is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics supplied by customer.
• Ability to read measurements using calipers and other measurement tools.
• Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
• Prolonged periods of standing and bending required.
• Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
