Job Purpose: The Manufacturing and Reliability Manager is responsible for maximizing production uptime, equipment reliability, facility performance, and overall operational efficiency. This role leads preventive and predictive maintenance programs, oversees facility and production support systems, manages maintenance/process tech personnel, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operations.
The Production Reliability Manager works closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Leadership teams to reduce downtime, improve asset performance, and support organizational goals.
Position Responsibilities:Primary
Job Duties:
- Oversee the daily workflow of the department.
- Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
- Oversees production quotas and schedules, ensuring inventory and shipment targets are met.
- Collaborate with purchasing department to verify, review, maintain, and report on materials and production inventories.
- Facilitates and authorizes repairs or maintenance for production tools and equipment.
- Identifies and recommends cost controls and other improvements to the production process.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Hands on support of manufacturing operations to lead in troubleshooting, changeovers and process improvements.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize:
- oProcess equipment uptime
- oProcess equipment efficiency
- oProcess equipment effectiveness in meeting product quality requirements
- oTimely and accurate set up/changeover and troubleshooting manufacturing lines.
- Develop and ensure effective preventative maintenance programs for manufacturing and supporting equipment.
- Develop and maintain spare parts inventory.
- Lead and develop a team of process technicians and facility maintenance technicians.
Provide mentoring, training, and development plans.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent
- At least four years of related experience required.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Ability to follow proper safety protocols.
- Electromechanical equipment, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Process piping/plumbing ,General facilities maintenance, OSHA and related safety regulations and best practices
- Ability and desire to work hands on with team to support efficiency and uptime of operations.
- Build and maintain relationships with relevant vendors to support manufacturing equipment and facilities
- Maintain appropriate records and data to evaluate trends, effectiveness of repairs and identify risks.

- Knowledge of general Lean and Continuous Improvement concepts and practices.
- Prolonged periods on feet supporting operations.
Periods of sitting and working on computer.
Lifting up to 50lbs. - Manual dexterity as needed to operate a variety of machinery and equipment.
- Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with the plant.
