CNC Machinist

In this role, you will operate Haas and Mazak CNC mills and/or lathes to manufacture high-precision orthopedic instruments. Because production focuses on custom and specialized medical tools, this position requires an operator comfortable running small-batch/short-run orders rather than high-volume mass production.

• Machine Operation:
  Set up tooling, load materials, and safely operate Haas and Mazak CNC machines to produce orthopedic surgical instruments to precise specifications.
• Small-Batch Execution:
  Manage short production runs efficiently, performing frequent job turnovers and setups suited for small batch manufacturing.
• Blueprint Reading:
  Interpret mechanical engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and process sheets to determine machining parameters and tolerances.
• Quality & Precision Inspection:
  Perform first-piece and in-process inspections using precision measuring equipment, specifically micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, and height gauges.
• Machine Maintenance:
  Perform basic daily machine maintenance, monitor fluid/coolant levels, and report mechanical issues immediately to leadership or maintenance.
• Compliance:
  Adhere strictly to quality standards, ISO guidelines, medical device manufacturing regulations, and workplace safety protocols.

3:00 PM - 1:00 AM

• Industry Focus:
  Experience in orthopedic, medical device, or high-precision tight-tolerance manufacturing.

Trade

1-4 years

• Experience:
  
  Minimum of 6 months of hands-on CNC machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Machine Knowledge:
  Direct experience operating Haas or Mazak CNC machinery.
• Blueprint Literacy:
  Ability to read and interpret technical blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and schematics.
• Measurement Proficiency:
  Demonstrated ability to accurately use and read micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools down to tight decimal tolerances.
• Physical Requirements:
  
  Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 40 lbs, and handle delicate, high-precision metal parts safely.

• 4-Day Work Week:
  Work Monday through Thursday, 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM, and enjoy 3-day weekends!
• Overtime Opportunities:
  Occasional Friday shifts required based on production volume.
• Competitive Pay:
  Earn between $18.00 and $25.00/hour depending on your qualifications and machine experience.
