Quality Engineer
Seeking a Manufacturing Quality Engineer to support internal quality systems, drive process improvements, and strengthen supplier quality within a production environment. This role focuses on ensuring process conformance, reducing defects, and supporting high quality standards across manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities- Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across quality systems to enhance product and process performance.
- Manage nonconforming materials through the MRB process and drive effective corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Develop and maintain control plans, PFMEAs, and other quality documentation to support robust manufacturing processes.
- Support new product launches to ensure smooth and controlled transfer from development into production.
- Conduct internal quality audits, document findings, and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Partner closely with operations, engineering, and suppliers to investigate and resolve quality issues.
- Implement poka-yoke solutions and other proactive quality processes to prevent defects and improve first-pass yield.
- Apply root cause analysis and lean principles to reduce waste, improve flow, and sustain process improvements.
- 1–5+ years of quality engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Hands-on experience with quality engineering practices and methodologies.
- Knowledge of ISO-based quality management systems.
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving tools.
- Familiarity with lean principles such as 5S and Kaizen.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of production processes and how they impact product quality.
- Experience with PPAP or similar production part approval processes.
- Ability to develop and interpret control plans and PFMEAs.
- Strong collaboration skills to work effectively with operations, engineering, and suppliers.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Experience with ERP software is a plus.
- Experience implementing poka-yoke and other error-proofing methods.
- Experience in conducting internal audits and closing corrective actions.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to drive and sustain change.
This position is based in a manufacturing production environment with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement, and collaboration across operations, engineering, and supply chain. The role follows a regular day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The organization is long-established and offers excellent benefits, reflecting a stable and supportive workplace culture.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warsaw, IN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $38.46/hr.
