Weareseekinga Senior Data Engineertodriveevolutionofour Snowflake -based
DataLakehouse,establishingamoderndataecosystemthatsupportsadvancedanalytics,compliance,and decision-makingacrossthebusiness.
Thisisahigh-impactroleforanexperiencedengineerwithatrackrecordofarchitectingandimplementingscalabledataplatforms—ideallyinfinancialortradingenvironments—whocantalkandthinkdatafromingestiontoMIdashboards.
Key Responsibilities Architecture &Development- Assumeownershipofa Snowflake-centric
DataLakehouseintegratingstructured,semi-structured,andunstructureddata. - DevelopandsupportrobustETL/ELTpipelinesthatingestandtransformdatafrommultipleinternalsystems(trading,CRM,finance,risk,etc.)andexternalAPIs.
- Implementdatamodels,schemas,andtransformationframeworksoptimisedforanalyticalandregulatoryusecases.
- Applybestpracticesindataversioning,orchestration,andautomationusingmoderndataengineeringtools.
- Ensure scalability,datalineage,andgovernanceacrossthedatalifecycle.
- Buildandownsemanticmodelsontopof Snowflake(Direct Queryand Import ),usingDAX,calculationgroups,RLS/OLS,andincrementalrefresh.
- Developoperationalreports,dashboardsanddataextracts
- Maintainhighdataintegrity,privacy,andsecurityalignedwithFCAandGDPRrequirements.
- Monitorandoptimisequeryperformanceandstorageefficiency.
- Partnerwithbusinessunits(Trading,Finance,Marketing,Compliance,Operations) tocapturedatarequirementsandtranslatethemintorobusttechnicalsolutions.
- Support regulatory,management,andoperationalreportingrequirementsthroughstructureddatamodels.
- Experienceinfinancialservices,trading,orfintechenvironments.
- ProvenexperiencedesigninganddeliveringDWH/Delta Lakehouseusing Snowflake .
- ExpertlevelSQLanddatamodellingexpertise(star/snowflakeschemas,dimension/almodelling).
- 2+yearswritingdbtmodelsinproduction.
Comfortablewithsources,snapshots,tests,macros,exposures,andthemedallion(bronze/silver/gold) pattern. - 3+yearsbuildingproduction
PowerBIonenterprisewarehouses.
ExpertDAX(timeintelligence,variables,virtualrelationships,calculationgroups),Power Query/M,Tabular Editor,DAXStudio. - StrongSQLonSnowflake.
Understandwarehousesizing,clustering,queryprofiles,andthecost
Leversthatmatter. - Familiaritywithorchestrationandtransformationframeworks.
- Hands-onexperiencewithdataanalysis,visualisation,andoperationalreportingtools.
- Excellentcommunicationskillsandabilitytotranslatebusinessrequirementsintoscalabledataarchitecture.
- Abilitytocreatescriptsin Pythonoranotherscriptinglanguage.
- ExperiencewithAWS(ECS,S3,IAM),Terraform,Git/Git Hub Actions .
- PowerBIembedded,Fabric,oracredibleopiniononwhennottousethem.
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric Direct Lake ,Snowflake Cortex/Claude.aiconnector,orotherAI-on-warehousepatterns.
- Degreein Computer Science ,Data Engineering,orrelatedfield.
- 5–8 years of hands-on experience in data engineering and / or analysis.
