Our client is seeking a highly organized and hands-on Material & Warehouse Supervisor to lead material flow, inventory management, and warehouse operations within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, movement, and delivery of materials required to support production schedules while minimizing inventory discrepancies and supply disruptions. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, a solid understanding of warehouse and inventory operations, and a proven track record of driving efficiency across material handling, logistics, and supply chain functions.

What

You'll Do
  • Supervise warehouse and material handling personnel, ensuring safe and efficient execution of daily operations.
  • Manage material flow and inventory control processes to support production requirements while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Train, coach, and develop hourly team members to maintain a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Conduct cycle counts, inventory audits, and reconciliation activities to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Partner with procurement and suppliers to coordinate replenishment schedules, purchase orders, and lead-time management.
  • Collaborate with logistics teams to optimize inbound and outbound material movements and transportation activities.
  • Utilize ERP/MRP systems to monitor inventory levels, material consumption, forecasts, and replenishment needs.
  • Implement and support Lean manufacturing initiatives, including Just-in-Time (JIT), Kanban, and pull-system methodologies.
  • Identify and resolve material shortages, warehouse bottlenecks, and supply chain disruptions impacting production.
  • Ensure adherence to warehouse safety protocols, material storage standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead workforce planning and shift scheduling activities to align staffing with production demands.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide ongoing coaching, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on warehouse efficiency, inventory accuracy, and material handling processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or Master's degree and 6 years of related experience; or PhD and 3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in warehouse management, materials supervision, logistics, or supply chain operations within an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising hourly warehouse and material handling personnel.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, material planning, and supply chain processes.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms.
  • Experience tracking material availability, inventory levels, and replenishment strategies through ERP/MRP systems.
  • Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles, including JIT, Kanban, pull systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, organization, communication, and team leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in high-volume automotive manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of warehouse performance metrics, inventory accuracy programs, and materials forecasting.
  • Experience leading process improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Understanding of production planning and material scheduling processes.
Compensation

The expected annual base salary range for this position is $108,877 - $163,316 #IND1#ZR
