Train for a career that drives your passion and fuels your success with two specialized training tracks available.Both programs are designed to prepare participants for immediate employment in the automotive industry, with a strong emphasis on practical skills, safety, and professionalism.
Learn to diagnose, maintain, and repair modern vehicles using advanced tools and technology.
Automotive technicians are the backbone of vehicle maintenance and repair. This program covers:
- Engine diagnostics and repair
- Brake systems, suspension, and steering
- Electrical systems and computerized diagnostics
- Safety procedures and customer service
Training duration:
Approximately 18 weeks.
Physical Requirements of Automotive Technician Training (AMT):
- Lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods
- Use jacks, hoists, and power tools
- Strong manual dexterity and coordination
- Good vision, hearing, and cognitive skills
Learn the use of technology like scan tools for collision detection, the process of Glued Dent Repair (GDR), prepping and painting and much more.
Auto body technicians restore vehicles to their pre-accident condition. This program includes:
- Collision repair and frame straightening
- Glued dent repair (GDR) and scan tools
- Sanding, priming, and painting
- Cosmetic detailing and refinishing
Training duration:
Approximately 18 weeks.
Physical Requirements of Auto Body Technician (ABT) Training:
- Lift up to 80 lbs and perform repetitive motions
- Work in crouched or kneeling positions
- Use sanders, grinders, and spray-painting tools
- Tolerate fumes, dust, and temperature extremes
- Wear protective gear and follow safety protocols
There is absolutely no cost to participate. This training is fully funded by the State of Rhode Island through Real Jobs RI and RI DLT. All materials, instruction, and support services are provided free of charge.

Monday through Thursday, with occasional Saturdays - Session Length:
Up to 5 hours per day, starting at 3:00 or 4:00 PM - Location:
New England Institute of Technology (specific campus details provided upon acceptance)
Info sessions & Written assessments will be held 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Technical Skills Assessments will follow from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
