Special Education Teacher in Warwick, RI

These positions focus on elementary-aged students in classrooms of 8-12 pupils, providing meaningful instruction and individualized support in a collaborative onsite setting.

Qualifications and

Experience:

• Valid certification or licensure as a Special Education Teacher
• Previous experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder or other developmental disabilities is highly valued
• Deep understanding of IEP processes, instructional adaptation, and positive behavior supports
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to manage and inspire small classroom groups

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored instruction and interventions to meet individual student needs
• Develop, implement, and track progress toward IEP goals
• Foster a safe, supportive classroom environment promoting learning and independence
• Collaborate with therapists, aides, and families to maximize student success
• Adapt curriculum and strategies for diverse learning styles and developmental levels
• Maintain documentation and participate in meetings as required
