Special Education Teacher
Special Education Teacher for a 36-week contract in Warwick, Rhode Island, earning up to $55 per hour based on experience. This role supports students with disabilities, developing and implementing individualized education plans in a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:Deliver special education instruction and support to students with disabilities in alignment with the SPED program and school expectations.
Develop, implement, and support IEP goals and related accommodations and modifications, tracking progress and outcomes.
Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teams, related service providers, and families to coordinate student support.
Maintain accurate documentation, records, and required compliance materials consistent with school policies.
Participate in school-based meetings, contributing to individualized student planning, behavior and support strategies, and instructional decision-making.
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (or equivalent coursework/degree required for licensure).
Rhode Island Special Education Teacher license (or equivalent certification required to teach SPED).
Minimum one year of experience supporting students with developmental disabilities and/or special education services.
Ability to support IEP/student support services, including instructional planning and progress monitoring.
Professional collaboration with parents, teachers, and special education team members.
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and student-centered professionalism.
Ability to work a standard school-day schedule.
Background consistent with teaching/special education responsibilities (not solely residential supervision).
Legal authorization to work in the United States on a W2 basis.
