  • Coordinate staffing and workload through project development to complete documents on schedule.
  • Implement QA/QC procedures.
  • Work on various municipal solid waste projects including landfills, compost facilities, transfer stations, MRFs, household hazardous waste facilities, waste-to-energy facilities, and organics facilities.
  • Collaborate with staff engineers to prepare design deliverables such as strategic plans, engineering reports, construction drawings, technical specifications, cost estimates, and schedules, with support from HDR’s national practice leads.
  • Participate in meetings with clients and regulatory agencies to resolve technical issues and ensure compliance.
  • Serve as a consultant and supervisor for waste and construction management projects as needed.
  • Work independently on technical tasks involving data analysis, result interpretation, and technical report preparation.
  • Delegate and supervise junior engineers and staff involved in waste facility design.
  • Train and mentor personnel according to strategic plans.
  • Additional Responsibilities:

    • Supervise project staff and mentor less experienced solid waste technical staff and project managers.
    • Collaborate with Section Manager and waste client development leads to prioritize marketing targets.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners, including general contractors.
    • Leverage HDR resources for cross-sector collaboration with targeted clients.
    • Develop marketing strategies and proposals for solid waste clients.
