Summary

Responsibilities include performing high-quality ultrasound imaging under the supervision of the Ultrasound Technologist Manager and Site Manager. The role requires maintaining accuracy, patient care, equipment operation, and adherence to safety standards.

Eligibility and Requirements
  • Must be an external candidate to apply.
  • Work a minimum of 16 hours/month, picking up entire posted shifts, including at least 1 weekend shift and 1 holiday weekend shift per year.
  • Must not refuse more than 2 shifts/month.
  • Refusing open shifts causing room closure or patient cancellations, and cancelling scheduled shifts are included in responsibilities.
Principal Duties
  • Accurately produce, review, and analyze ultrasound images.
  • Maintain knowledge of bioeffects and apply ALARA principles.
  • Greet patients, obtain medical history, and instruct about procedures.
  • Operate equipment per protocols, perform quality control, and report concerns.
  • Ensure patient confidentiality and proper documentation.
  • Assist in training new staff and students as needed.
Qualifications
  • Registered in ultrasound by ARDMS in at least one application.
  • Experience in Abdominal, OB/GYN, Small Parts, and Vascular Ultrasound required;
    Breast Ultrasound a plus.
  • Current CME requirements must be met.
  • One year of formal training or experience as a diagnostic medical sonographer.
Additional Information
  • Maintain accreditation and certifications as required by authorities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Work independently with ethical judgment, and follow aseptic techniques.
  • Ensure proper documentation and coordinate with other staff.
