Assist physicians in providing high-quality patient care, while also exhibiting strong customer service skills to our patients and the overall practice. - Assist with direct patient care procedures and related tasks such as lab tracking and data entry, document management, obtaining patient histories and vital signs, verifying medication lists, preparing charts and pre‑visit planning
- Perform routine specialized procedures, such as EKGs, rapid strep, urine dips, spirometry, nebulizer treatments, etc.
- Administer injections including vaccines and medications
- Educate and advise patients on specified medical issues within established parameters
- Schedule, coordinate, and track STAT patient referrals and pre‑authorizations
- Work quality reports to ensure gaps of care are closed and maintain consistent quality scores
- Maintain stock levels for medicines and medical supplies as needed
- Monitor and audit vaccine refrigeration temperature in line with Department of Health regulations
- Practice safety, environmental and/or infection control methods
- Comply with OSHA and DOH standards
- Comply with federal and local confidentiality laws, including HIPAA, ensuring patient privacy
- Adhere to Brown Health Medical Group guidelines for protecting patients’ demographic, clinical and financial information
- Provide superior customer service and outstanding patient care
- Attend meetings/workshops as they relate to current position and office workflows
- Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
- High School graduate or equivalent required.
- Able to read, write and speak English.
- Basic Life Support Certification required.
- Completion of a medical assistant certification preferred.
