Job Summary
Responsible at assigned CNE facility for developing, administering and coordinating all Patient Access activities to ensure daily efficient operations and staff compliance with all established policies and procedures. The Site Manager, Patient Access is responsible at assigned facility for all patient data management and inpatient bed management functions.
Duties And Responsibilities- Responsible for ensuring that Federal and State regulations are adhered to.
- Manage and direct all activities of the department by providing leadership and serving as a resource to evaluate and identify strategies for problem solving.
- Develop and implement all departmental policies, procedures and goals.
- Performs managerial responsibilities such as interviewing, hiring, training, conducting performance evaluations, providing disciplinary action and recommending salary increases.
- Ensures high levels of performance, achievement of goals and quality of results within the department through subordinate supervisor and team leaders.
- Coordinates with Case Management, Nursing and other applicable departments to facilitate smooth patient admissions and patient flow.
- Oversees the admission process, placement of same day (bed management) admissions and the processing of patients for elective, scheduled and ER admissions.
- Leads or participates in multi-disciplinary teams to improve service, processes and system functionality.
- Demonstrates knowledge of all payor policies as they relate to insurance coverage and eligibility of third party payers, in determining proper coverage and patient liability.
- Oversees the process of notifying patients of expected liabilities and collection of payments at the time of medical services and collaborates with Financial Clearance depts to ensure uninsured and underinsured patients are directed to appropriate resources.
Bachelor's degree in a healthcare or business related field with a minimum of 5 years management experience in a revenue cycle or acute healthcare environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
