Summary
The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing high-quality, cost-effective care for their patients. The Physician Assistant will report to the Medical Director and/or Supervising Physician and oversee the progress of a specific caseload of patients across the care continuum, acting as an educator, consultant, and liaison to healthcare providers as necessary.

- Demonstrates a fundamental grounding in medical theory and practice with mastery of knowledge within a defined content area.
- Manages a caseload of patients in partnership with the healthcare team to optimize health status and coordinate care over time and across healthcare settings.
- Provides leadership in the development, validation, implementation, and evaluation of standards, policies, procedures, and critical paths to support the patient care delivery model.
- Oversees care coordination in acute, home care, and ambulatory care settings as feasible where pertinent.
- Assists the healthcare team to achieve mutually agreed upon healthcare goals by providing necessary support, education and encouragement.
- Demonstrates advanced physical and psychosocial assessment skills and knowledge of family dynamics.
- Provides direct care to patients in acute care, ambulatory care and home care settings where applicable.
- Performs advanced practice skills under the supervision of the Medical Director.
- Provides expert consultation for clinical issues promoting increased knowledge and skills for the consultee.
- Participates in the education, clinical research and mentoring of healthcare providers.
- Facilitates patient/family education in area of expertise.
- Annually completes mandatory safety and infection control training.
- Prescriptive privileges per licensure.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education- Graduate of an accredited school for physician assistant training. PA certification required.
- Certified and maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
- Prefer one-two years related experience in an outpatient Dermatology setting.
