Job Purpose and Summary

In Retail locations, District Support Pharmacists (DSPs) cultivate a culture of excellence by modeling our values, providing authentic care, and supporting pharmacy teams across the district.
Responsibilities- Manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
- Travel the district to cover pharmacist shifts as scheduled, overseeing pharmacy operations and acting as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts.
- Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by directing the pharmacy team to follow workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
- Assume the Pharmacy Manager’s day‑to‑day duties when the sole or primary pharmacist‑on‑duty.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy, coaching staff, and resolving insurance/medication issues.
- Proactively offer and administer immunizations, fostering Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization skills.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, guiding best practices and protecting cold‑chain products.
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, contributing to a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
- Keep clinical and technical skills current through required trainings, CMEs, and continuous learning.
- Deliver pharmacist‑delivered clinical care (e.g., COVID/Flu, Hormonal Contraception) to improve patient outcomes and empower the pharmacy team.
- Comply with all federal and state laws, professional standards, and CVS Health policies, ensuring patient safety and privacy.
- Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
- Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
- Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
- Travel within a reasonable radius to support market staffing as business needs require.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Complete required training within designated time frames.
- Attention and focus: concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly, and confirm prescription accuracy.
- Customer service and team orientation: actively help people and respond to patient reactions.
- Communication skills: use verbal and written communication, active listening, and clear instruction delivery.
- Mathematical reasoning: solve problems involving dosage calculations and inventory management.
- Problem resolution: identify challenging interactions and select optimal solutions.
- Physical demands: remain mobile, lift up to 20 lbs, perform precise machine adjustments, and maintain visual acuity.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by Supervisor or Manager.
- 1‑2 years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.

Pay Range: $60.00 – $76.00 per hour (base hourly rate or base annual full‑time salary for the job grade). The actual base salary will depend on experience, education, geography, and other factors. This part‑time position is eligible for a range of benefits and programs that support the physical, emotional, and financial well‑being of colleagues.
