Job Details
Remote role after comprehensive on‑site training at the corporate office in Warwick, RI, with management approval. Training covers patient scheduling protocols. A shift differential is available for a minimum of three hours worked per shift between 4:00 PM and 9:00 PM.
Schedule- Monday–Thursday 4:00 PM–8:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
- Part–time
- Handle telephone calls in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner while scheduling patients and responding to questions, providing excellent customer service.
- Apply insurance pre‑authorization rules and RIMI policies for exam scheduling.
- Collect accurate demographic and insurance information during scheduling.
- Scan authorizations and communicate with Authorization staff as needed.
- Coordinate and communicate with the radiologist and referring physicians.
- Ensure scheduling, patient account, insurance, and related records are correctly completed with proper patient identification, statistical, and billing information.
- Contact patients to clarify information when required.
- Provide additional assistance to other personnel in areas outside primary responsibilities when possible or required.
- Conduct patient satisfaction calls for a sample of patients as instructed.
- Comply with HIPAA, federal, and state regulations in all interactions.
- Remain available at scheduled times to perform scheduling duties.
- Ensure proper operation of equipment; report operational concerns immediately to the Supervisor.
- Report concerns regarding a referring office, patient, or employee immediately to the Supervisor.
- Participate in training as assigned by the department.
- Remain flexible and available to perform duties at specific times as scheduled.
- Offer flexibility to ensure proper staffing coverage.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of health insurance requirements related to pre‑authorization, eligibility, and out‑of‑pocket responsibilities.
- Interpersonal skills to interface effectively with patients under stress, referring physicians, staff, radiologists, and employees.
- Organizational and analytical skills for compiling and interpreting data.
- Basic computer proficiency required.
- Preferred: medical office experience and prior patient scheduling experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Prolonged periods of repetitive sitting, standing at a desk, and working on a computer. Ability to lift up to 15 pounds. All essential duties must be performed without restriction. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
