Job Summary
Responsible for providing quality diagnostic ultrasound procedures and the care needed to ensure patient comfort and safety.
Duties & Responsibilities- Independently perform ultrasound examinations exercising judgment to recognize and record pathologists and abnormalities necessary to provide a diagnosis.
- Review patient’s medical records and clinical information to evaluate the patient’s condition and determine the diagnostic information the physician is seeking.
- Summarize and document findings for radiologists and communicate with referring physicians, radiologists, nursing staff, and other departments about the examination.
- Maintain current knowledge of specialty through seminars, in-services, and reading journals.
- Assist specialty physicians in performing invasive procedures (e.g., amniocentesis and biopsies) by providing ultrasound guidance for needle entrance.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned.
- Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound program.
- Minimum of six months job‑related experience or equivalent.
- CPR Certification.
- RDMS required.
- RVT required (Certified Ultrasonographer position only).
