School Psychologist

Seeking a qualified and student-focused School Psychologist to support students' academic, social-emotional, and behavioral success. The School Psychologist provides psycho educational assessment, consultation, and intervention services. Collaborates with school teams and families. Supports compliance with special education and general education requirements in accordance with state and federal regulations. Conduct comprehensive psycho educational evaluations for students referred for special education and other support services.

Analyze and interpret assessment data. Prepare clear, timely written reports with actionable recommendations. Participate actively in IEP, 504 Plan, and MTSS/RTI meetings. Support eligibility determinations and program planning. Consult with teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers regarding instructional strategies, behavior supports, and interventions. Support the development and monitoring of behavior intervention plans (BIPs) and positive behavior supports. Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to individuals or groups as appropriate, including threat assessment and risk response in collaboration with district protocols.

Promote social-emotional learning, mental health awareness, and wellness initiatives across the school community. Collaborate on prevention and early-intervention efforts. Support data-driven decision-making. Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with IDEA, FERPA, state regulations, and district policies. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and required trainings. Perform other duties as assigned consistent with professional licensure and district needs.

Required Qualifications:

Master's or Doctoral degree in School Psychology or a related field. Rhode Island certification/licensure as a School Psychologist (or eligibility to obtain). Knowledge of special education law, assessment practices, and school-based interventions. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams. Commitment to confidentiality, ethical practice, and cultural responsiveness.
