General Summary

To provide clinical mental health services, both psychotherapy, education and nursing services along with consultation to staff and community agencies.

Essential

Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing assessments in office or community.
  • Utilize comprehensive nursing assessments, plans, interventions and evaluations in direct client care.
  • Monitor medication and administer injections with strict adherence to Thrive’s policy and procedure. Adjust monthly medication log according to doctor’s medication orders.
  • Monitor signs and symptoms of psychiatric functioning; monitor medication regimen; assist in community networking and education.
  • Provide wellness services and ongoing short term case management and psychotherapy services to adult outpatients;
  • Consult/liaison with psychiatrist and/or medical doctors and other treatment staff;
  • Provide individual, couple, family or group counseling on issues of health and wellness;
  • Provide crisis intervention.
  • Provide referral consultation and education to the community regarding issues of chemical dependency and mental health.
  • Provide wellness/preventive care and mental health consultation, education and training to agency personnel.
  • Develop and implement recovery plans and document services consistent with Thrive standards and/or insurance requirements.
  • Collaborate with other providers, agencies and individuals in the client's network of care.
  • Provide education, training and modeling in basic daily living skills, social or parenting skills.
  • Teach clients effective techniques for managing their medication as prescribed.
  • Provide smoking cessation classes/support/education.
  • Assist clients in developing and strengthening their support network to accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Produce, complete, and maintain billing forms, logs, data collection forms, clinical documentation and client records in accordance with Thrive standards and state and federal regulations.
  • Ensure clients have appropriate medical coverage at all time.
  • Transport clients as needed.

Qualifications Education, Experience and

Competencies:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
  • 3 years’ experience in mental health setting required.
  • At least 2 years of substance use disorder experience preferred.
Certifications, Licenses Requirements:
  • Rhode Island registered nursing license required
  • Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job
