Infection Preventionist, RN

Kent Regency, a skilled nursing and rehabilitation center in Warwick, RI, is seeking an Infection Preventionist, RN. This role leads the infection prevention and control program, including surveillance, data analysis, and education. The RN will develop and implement policies, conduct audits and risk assessments, track and report infections, and ensure compliance with state, federal, and CDC guidelines. The Infection Preventionist collaborates with nursing, rehab, and medical staff, provides staff and resident education, supports outbreak management, and promotes best practices to safeguard residents, visitors, and team members in our resident-centered environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead infection prevention and control program for the facility
• Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, tracking, and data analysis
• Develop, implement, and update infection control policies and procedures
• Perform audits, risk assessments, and environmental rounds
• Educate staff, residents, and families on infection prevention practices
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and CDC infection control regulations
• Collaborate with nursing, rehab, and medical teams on care plans and protocols
• Support outbreak investigation, response, and reporting
• Maintain accurate documentation and prepare infection control reports
• Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives
